WHO IS WHO

 

This course tracks the development in thinking of Freud and Klein about who populates our internal world of whole and separate parts of the self and our objects.  These part and whole object identifications reflect our moods, character, capacity to love, mourn, and to relate to others. 

 

In the room with our patients we engage, receive and enact in unconscious moment to moment shifts with these internalized objects.  Clinical material is used to emphasize the different concepts discussed in the theory.  Participants are encouraged to bring in vignettes.  Who is Who by Ignes Sodre and Those Which Patients Bring to Analysis by Henri Rey will be discussed in addition to seminal articles by Freud and Klein.
